RE: Candlelight Vigil for Douglas Clements (39)

Mr. Clements was sitting in his car, in his driveway, filling finishing a job application, when he was murdered by a cowardly person. Now seven children from the ages of two to sixteen are left without a father. The children, especially the younger ones, don’t understand why their father isn’t present. Mr. Clements was a family man and was very involved with his children.
Please join us as we gather to remember Douglas Clements. We will also take up a donation to give to the family to help some with the burial costs.

Candlelight Vigil for Quvonta Ratliff (18)

WHERE: 1485 Larchmont (off E. 179 & St. Clair)
WHEN: Wednesday, 11.15.17, 4 pm
RE: Candlelight Vigil for Quvonta Ratliff (18)

We Are Not Afraid.

We are not afraid. There will be a victory march for Mrs. Ratliff’s son, Quvonta Ratliff. Yes, her beloved son, a student at Ohio State University, was shot down on the streets of East 179 and Larchmont as he drove his girlfriend home. His car crashed into another car while he was mortally wounded.
Although his mother is very frightened to go on the street where her son was murdered, she will put down her fears and march down the street with many family members, friends and those who will come and support her because it is the right thing to do. Whether it is in Las Vegas, Nevada, Sutherland Springs, Texas, Charleston, South Carolina, or on a lonely street in Collinwood, the cowardly thugs and murderers must know that they cannot win.
Therefore, we are inviting the whole community to come out and join the victory march on behalf of my son, Quvonta Ratliff. We will start on the corner of East 179 & St. Clair. There is parking available in the school parking lot. We will march a couple blocks to where my son lost his life and boldly cry out for justice.
We will have a candlelight vigil in honor of Quvonta Ratliff.

RE: Candlelight Vigil for Steven Aikens Swain, Jr. (17)

Sad Times

Sad times in our community when a Shaw student, Steven Aikens Swain, Jr., was gunned down in cold blood in the street and the media ignored it. As many of us in the community watched, this Shaw student, who was a good basketball player, lay in the middle of the street for two to three hours.
Again, as we waited on one of the darkest, unlit and debris filled streets in East Cleveland surrounded by abandoned buildings, we wondered where was the media? We were dismayed at the plight and condition of this street? The mother, who lives one street down on Elderwood, had cried out for help about these conditions for several years to no avail. These are the facts and a sad commentary of the times we live, especially in East Cleveland. Days later, we were still appalled that there was no mention of the death of Steven, a young Shaw high school student.
We are inviting the community, media and others who care about our children to join us as we try to make amends to this family. Come to the candlelight vigil for Steven and hear the mother’s complaints and frustrations as she mourns the murder of her son. We will also collect donations to give to the family to help with the burial costs.
Please join us in front of East Cleveland’s city hall today at 4:30 pm.

VIA EMAIL NOTICE TO PRESS

WHEN: Wednesday, November 1, 2017, from 5:30 pm to 8 pm
RE: PEOPLE’S DEBATE – OR, IF THE CANDIDATES won’t COME –
OUR COMMUNITY FORUM

Black on Black Crime, Inc. and other organizations are inviting everyone to a People’s Debate, on November 1, 2017, from 5:30 pm to 8 pm, at The Original Garden Valley Neighborhood House, 7100 Kinsman 44104.
We had an establishment’s mayoral debate at the City Club in downtown Cleveland for those who could pay $50 or more to attend. Now it’s time to have the People’s Mayoral Debate straight from the hood and in the hood. You are both promising great improvements to our inner city neighborhoods. Therefore, it’s only right to have both candidates come and represent themselves to the community and their constituents and talk to us at an inner city location.
BBCI/BMA/Survivors Victims of Tragedy and others consider it an insult to the Black Community and the Inner City that we have two outstanding Black African American Mayoral Candidates who have refused to debate in the hood. The Downtown Debate at the City Club was good enough for those could afford it judging from the participation of the audience-75 % white.
That is why the Black Community is upset, speaking out, pleading and demanding that our Black Candidates join us in the debate on Wednesday, November 1, 2017, at 5:30 pm, to discuss pertinent issues unique to our communities. The community center donated their space for free to have the People’s Debate. The people won’t have to pay. They can attend for free and, of course, the Mayoral Candidates can come for free, too.
The Citizens who feel there should be a debate in the hood can show their outrage by contacting Teresa.forabettercleveland@gmail.com and zackreedformayor@gmail.com
Join us and bring your questions. The People’s Debate is free and open to all.

RE: Stand Together Against Bigotry, Discrimination, Racial Injustice, Police Brutality/Murder

Hell with you. Being a senior has allowed me to witness many things. Greetings from Art McKoy. Thank you for letting me share this message with you. It is not often that I communicate with you, however, make no mistake about it, I love my social media family from the bottom of my heart and I hear you loud and clear. Let me share this important information with you.
Being a senior citizen has allowed me to witness many things. However, in all my years in Cleveland, never have I witnessed Cleveland’s sports figures, athletes take such a conscientious stand on an action as when they took a knee against injustice and racism during the national anthem. The anthem is supposed to stand for justice and equality and those principles have been egregiously violated too many times, especially during the last year.
It took courage for those Browns’ players to take a knee and take a stand. Almost always in the past these highly paid athletes stayed silent in actions and word. Maybe just a social media comment or hash tag once in a while. This time, they took action.
The Browns’ players showed their courage and love for the community. Now, we will show support to them. Come stand with us. Kneel with us as we, the community, show our support. We will have a peaceful protest on Sunday, 10.1.17, beginning at 11 am.
Meet us at Ninth & Lakeside near the Free Stamp. Come early for parking. We are taking our protest to the national level. Thanks to those courageous Browns’ players. Thanks to those who served in the military. We invite you to join us.

RE: Meeting regarding Consent Decree

On Wednesday, today, there is a special Black on Black Crime Inc. meeting. We will be at the Euclid Public Library, 631 East 222 Street, outside at the tank, because Black People and other minorities, as well as, poor whites are under attack by Law Enforcement in the City of Euclid. After the murder and attack on unarmed civilians, this is a good place to start our week long kickoff to deal with this subject. We invite Dr. Richard Montgomery, Cassandra McDonald, Black Lives Matter, Indivisible CLE, ICRM, and Laura Cowan and everyone to be a part of this discussion-
Then on Thursday, at 4 pm, at 15415 Kipling Avenue, the US Dept. of Justice representative, Earl Saunders, is stopping by to answer questions from the community about the Consent Decree. Mr. Saunders is seeking feedback on implementation process of the Consent Decree and ideas from the community on how the process can be improved to involve more of the citizenry. I’m looking forward to you all getting together with Mr. Saunders since BBCI has such a great deal to offer.
Please come by to see the Black on Black Crime Inc./Survivors Victims of Tragedy/Black Man Army/Man to Man headquarters, which is being renovated, to see if you would like to hold your event or service there. There will be church services beginning on 10.1.17, at 11 am at 15415 Kipling.
Finally there will be a response to the President this Sunday, October 1, 2107, from 11-11:30 am, at the Free Stamp on East Ninth and Lakeside, where we will gather to show our support of the entire NFL on the subject of why the knee was really taken which was and is in response to racism, bigotry, discrimination and police brutality!

Candlelight Vigil for Andrew Easley (39)

BLACK ON BLACK CRIME, INC.
SURVIVORS/VICTIMS OF TRAGEDY

VIA EMAIL NOTICE TO PRESS
TO: Producers/Editors/Reporters
WHERE: East 110 & Superior, Cleveland, Ohio
WHEN: Wednesday, 7.26.17, 6 pm
RE: Candlelight Vigil for Andrew Easley (39)

The media published great stories about Andrew Easley, a man who gave his life trying to protect others. They talked about the fact that he was a father. That he was a good man. He was respected. He was a frequent bus rider who was going to visit a friend when he was murdered.
Many good things were printed and said but the fact of the matter that still remains is that this man, Andrew Easley, is still laying in the funeral home because his family, led by his 19 year old daughter, has not been able to raise enough money to have Mr. Easley properly buried. The family was told that if the rest of the money is not paid by the end of the week, Mr. Easley will be cremated and his ashes thrown away as an abandoned body. This is cruel!
The fluffy parts of the stories are good but not let’s forget the intricate truth of the sadness that this family faces. Join us as we try to raise enough money to help this family. No family should face the possibility of losing their loved one twice.
We will join his family and friends as they march toward the bus stop at East 110 & Superior where Mr. Easley’s life was abruptly ended. He was a hero who died because he tried to protect and shield other riders from the irrational and abusive actions of another person.
Is this the way to treat a hero? A man who lost his life trying to protect others?
