RE: Candlelight Vigil for Donovan Alexander

Family and friend will gather to remember Donovan Alexander’s life. He leaves behind three children and a large and loving family. He had a beautiful smile. He will be missed by many.
At the rate the murders in Cuyahoga County are piling up, I’m afraid we will hit 200 before the year is over. Why have we become so bloodthirsty, so ruthless? Friends killing friends. Donovan’s family believes he knew his killer. Why? There were also over 200 people shot so far this year who fortunately lived. Just imagine what the murder total would be if half of those people hadn’t survived?
Why have we become so quick to kill? So quick to spew hate and derogatory comments? So quick to be intolerant and racist? If we don’t start showing compassion, tolerance, patience and love toward each other, what will become of our society? Will anything be left for our children?

RE: Anniversary Vigil for Billy S. McPherson aka Dolla (34)

Family and friends of Billy McPherson are coming together one year after his murder to remember him and bring some comfort to each other.
Billy leaves behind a loving family, including three children ages 2, 7 and 15. Billy loved watching his son play football. He enjoyed sports, too. He was always there for his children. Now, they will continue growing up but it will be without a father. Billy’s father passed away a few years ago, and his grandfather made sure the family stayed strong. Now, this grandfather will have to comfort and help care for his great-grandchildren. He loved music and was known as “Dolla” when he provided DJ services.
Join us as we come together in a spirit of love and kindness and as we pray for a stop to all of this crazy violence that is either killing or wounding members of too many of our families right and left, every day, over here and over there.
