RE: Candlelight Vigil for Andrew Easley (39)

The media published great stories about Andrew Easley, a man who gave his life trying to protect others. They talked about the fact that he was a father. That he was a good man. He was respected. He was a frequent bus rider who was going to visit a friend when he was murdered.
Many good things were printed and said but the fact of the matter that still remains is that this man, Andrew Easley, is still laying in the funeral home because his family, led by his 19 year old daughter, has not been able to raise enough money to have Mr. Easley properly buried. The family was told that if the rest of the money is not paid by the end of the week, Mr. Easley will be cremated and his ashes thrown away as an abandoned body. This is cruel!
The fluffy parts of the stories are good but not let’s forget the intricate truth of the sadness that this family faces. Join us as we try to raise enough money to help this family. No family should face the possibility of losing their loved one twice.
We will join his family and friends as they march toward the bus stop at East 110 & Superior where Mr. Easley’s life was abruptly ended. He was a hero who died because he tried to protect and shield other riders from the irrational and abusive actions of another person.
Is this the way to treat a hero? A man who lost his life trying to protect others?

RE: Candlelight Vigil for Michael Chappman (17)

Michael Chappman was a good student and outstanding football player at John Hay High School. He died about two weeks after being shot in the back by a cowardly drive-by shooter. This strong young man and football player struggled hard to survive but in the end succumbed to his wounds and passed away.
What a tragedy. This young man had the potential to be a president and an outstanding man. However, a murderous bullet caught up with him and ended his aspirations for greatness.
These murders are like a devastating plague that is consuming our young people like Michael Chappman far too often.
Please join family, friends and community representatives as we remember Mr. Chappman.

RE: CALLING ON ALL ACTIVISTS

Calling all activists, community leaders, community groups and pastors. If we are truly sincere about stopping the violence and murders, saving our children and making our streets safe, we must have a united front.
Therefore, we are asking everyone to put their differences aside for the betterment of our community. Malcolm X once stated that whatever your religion or ideology we are still Black and still living and still suffering in the Black community together.
I am making a personal plea for everyone to come out and join Pastor Vernon in the casket crusade against violence on:
7.22.17, 3 pm, East Cleveland – Shaw Stadium
7.29.17, 3 pm, Cleveland – East Tech High School Stadium
People are dying. Families are suffering. Let’s save lives. If you have lost someone because of violence or want to save your loved one from violence, you need to come and bring your loved one.

RE: Prayer Rally

We are inviting everyone to join us at Radio One on Sunday, 7.16.17, from 4-5 pm, to pray for peace in our neighborhoods.
We are praying for Cleveland. We are praying for an end to racism and racial restoration, and an end to the heroin epidemic.
We are praying for our children and families and for an end to the violence.
We will also have a special tribute for retired Judge Jean Murrell Capers, who is now 104 years old. Judge Capers is also affectionately known as the oldest talk show host in America. There will also be a tribute for Dauphne Walker, who has been a local radio personality for over 20 years.
We love both of these special ladies and ask everyone with special memories, pictures or kind words to join us.
