RE: Anniversary Candlelight Vigil for Tanisha Anderson (37)
One year ago, the police were called to do a welfare check to help during a mental health crisis. On that day, November 12, 2014, Tanisha Anderson, 37, died in front of her home after police officers restrained her in a overly forceful manner. Ms. Anderson was unarmed and nonviolent.
Family and friends, along with the Cleveland Peace Action, the Cleveland Peoples Forum, and BBCI, SV and other organizations, will have a candlelight vigil on the corner of Ansel Rd. and Superior near where Tanisha was killed. We will gather peacefully to celebrate her and memorialize the day her life was taken from us. We welcome all family, friends, and members of the community who truly loved Ne-Ne to join us.
What to bring: Baloons, Candles, Photos of Tanisha, Flowers, and Teddy Bears.
If you have any questions, please call Judy Martin at 990.0679, Al Porter, Jr. at 804.7462 or Art McKoy at 253.4070.
